Acrylic Acid Used As Adhesives, Flocculants, Thickening Agents, And Dispersants


The primary raw ingredient for the manufacturing of acrylic resins, acrylates, and super absorbent polymers is Acrylic Acid, an unpleasant-smelling, colorless liquid. Additionally, acrylic acid has a wide range of uses in adhesives, flocculants, thickening agents, and dispersants. Chloroform, ethers, water, and alcohols are all miscible with it. Acrylates are mostly used in the production of homo- or co-polymers such 2-ethyl-hexyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, and methyl acrylate.

Polyacrylic acid and monomers like vinyl, butadiene, styrene, or acrylonitrile are created when Acrylic Acid reacts with its own esters. Acrylic acid is an organic chemical that possesses properties that give it an acerbic, or acidic, fragrance. A significant portion of this substance is used as a feedstock to produce acrylate esters, which are widely used as additives in a number of products, including plastics, adhesives, paper, sealants, and surface coatings.
